Nirvana’s second studio album, Nevermind, was released on September 24, 1991, through DGC Records. The album was produced by Butch Vig, who had previously worked on Sub Pop’s first two releases. It featured twelve songs that were written by lead singer and guitarist Kurt Cobain, bassist Krist Novoselic, and drummer Dave Grohl. The album was a commercial success, reaching number one on the Billboard 200, and selling over 30 million copies worldwide. It was also critically acclaimed, and is often considered one of the greatest albums of all time. The album features two of Nirvana’s most well-known songs: ‘Smells Like Teen Spirit’ and ‘Come As You Are’. It also includes ‘Lithium’, ‘In Bloom’, ‘Polly’, and ‘Something in the Way’.
